  • The AWS Free Tier offers customers the ability to explore and test AWS services at no cost up to the limits specified for each service. This tier includes three types of offers: 12-month free, always free and short-term free trials. Depending on the service, customers can use products for free up to certain limits. If they exceed those limits, standard AWS rates apply.

  • The services that are part of the AWS free tier vary in duration: some are valid for 12 months from account activation, while others remain free continuously until certain limits are reached, as long as a valid AWS account is maintained. There are also services with short-term trials that start when the service is used for the first time.

To take advantage of it, all you need to do is sign up and create an AWS account. It is important to note that if you are linked to an organization in AWS Organizations, only an account within the organization can benefit from the free offer.

  • The AWS Free Tier is not limited to specific use cases and allows new customers to use certain AWS services to test ideas or run applications. Common uses include web hosting, development projects and proof-of-concepts.
